Yohji Yamamoto - Crude and extremely provocative modernity
Yohji Yamamoto was born in 1943 in Japan. He graduated from Bunk Fashion College. After a short stay in Paris he launched his own business. His first collection which was presented in 1977 was a success in Japan. After a debut in Paris 1981, his men’s and women’s collections have become a status symbol of creative people from big cities.
Yohji Yamamoto uses black colour, flat shoes and abstract silhouettes. His style is characterised by combining intellectual rigor and breathtaking romanticism.
